Sewing Classes

Fife-based collective, Melissa and Georgia, are kindly hosting 4 free sewing classes as park of our Art in the Park festival of creativity. To find out more about the event as a whole and to reserve space on one of these workshops, please visit the main event page: Art in the Park.

Workshop Title: Sewing Class (Suitable for 5 - 17 yrs)

Date / Time: Sat 2nd May / 11.00 am - 12.30 pm & 1.00 - 2.30 pm

Date / Time: Sun 10th May / 11.00 am – 12.30 pm & 1.00 - 2.30 pm

Ticket Price: Free! (but spaces are limited so pre-booking is required)

Location: The Party Tent (behind the Craigtoun Cafe)

Workshop Description:
Join us for a fun, hands-on sewing experience designed especially for kids, during which they will have the opportunity to make their own tote bag, pouch, or hair accessory! This taster class is the perfect introduction to sewing—no prior experience needed!

In this class, children will learn basic sewing skills and create one simple project of their choice:

  • Simple Tote Bag  - a fun and useful beginner project.

  • Cute Pouch  - perfect for storing pencils, small toys, or treasures.

  • Hair Accessory  - a stylish scrunchie or bow to wear or gift to a friend.

They'll Learn:
How to use a sewing machine
How to use simple sewing tools safely
How to plan and finish a small project

Kids will love this hands-on creativity exercise which gives them the chance to make something they can use and builds confidence and fine motor skills in a calm, supportive environment. All materials provided — just bring a little imagination!
