This Carers Week, the Friends of Craigtoun are delighted to announce that we have gratefully received funding from Fife Carers Community Chest to increase the reach and number of carers using Craigtoun as a supportive place for carers to develop their sense of belonging and improve their wellbeing.
Thanks to Jodie Burn, Operations Manager from Fife Young Carers (pictured here with Friends of Craigtoun Park Manager, Paul Dixon, and Director, Fiona Oxley) for starting the conversation on how we can work with carers and provide increased practical support.
This meeting was the first of a number of project actions to meet with carers in the community and provide carer-specific events to support improved health and wellbeing at Craigtoun Country Park.
A carer is someone who, without payment, provides help and support to a relative, friend or neighbour who can't manage without their help. This could be due to age, physical or mental illness, addiction and/or disability.
If you identify as an unpaid carer and/or know how we can better support unpaid carers within North East Fife, please get in contact with fiona.oxley@friendsofcraigtoun.org.uk. We would love to hear from you!
An exciting opportunity to make a difference at Craigtoun Country Park!
